Ceramic artist and educator (b. 1952, Chicago). Grew up in LA surrounded by family's whiteware manufacturing businesses. Managed Wildwood Ceramics factory 1970-72. BFA Kansas City Art Institute (1975), MFA Alfred University (1977). Instructor at Parsons School of Design (1978-80), Asst Professor Boston University (1980-85), Assoc Professor UMass Dartmouth (1985-99). Co-founded Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts (1986). Studio in South Dartmouth, MA since 1982. Founded Gustin Ceramics Tile Production (1996). Retired from academia 1999. Known for sculptural vessels exploring the vessel form as abstraction.
