Potter at Stonepool Pottery in Worthington, MA since 1986. Born NYC 1955. BA Anthropology from Amherst College (1978). Studied at Penland with Michael Simon and Mary Roehm. Wood-fire stoneware inspired by early American pottery. Editor of "A Chosen Path: The Ceramic Art of Karen Karnes" (UNC Press 2010). Co-founder of POW! Pots on Wheels! collaborative. Director of Apprenticelines Project promoting apprenticeship. 2018 Smithsonian Artist Fellow. 2020 Center for Craft Research Fellow. Advisory board of Ceramics Monthly, contributing editor Studio Potter. Work in Smithsonian Renwick Gallery, Mint Museum, Alfred Ceramic Art Museum, Currier Museum, Newark Museum. Featured in 4th World Ceramics Biennial, Icheon, Korea.
