Malcolm Davis

Malcolm Davis (1937-2011). Internationally recognized ceramic artist based in Upshur County, West Virginia for 25+ years. Pioneer of Carbon Trap Shino glaze — the technique now bears his name. Discovered ceramics later in life, became a successful potter and teacher. His carbon trap shino recipe is one of the most widely used glaze formulas in studio ceramics. Generous teacher who shared his recipes freely.
